Trout fishing has been excellent as of late. I had a group of 4 guys out the other morning on the Rush and they caught 50 fish between them. Red midge larvae, black wooly buggers, prince nymphs and hare’s ears are working well right now. Orange soft hackles and sizzlin hot squirrels are also working well. Get out and enjoy the next couple of days! There are only three days left in the Wisconsin Trout Season. SE MN in also open for three more days and then only the streams within Forestville/Mystery Cave State Park, Whitewater State Park and Beaver Creek State Park will be open through the winter.
Muskies and pike are fattening up for winter and fishing has been decent. The muskies have been a little lock jaw lately with the sunny skies and south east winds but it should be picking up. Pike have been on a terror, we caught some really nice pike, mid 30’s and around 10lbs.
